Café Terrace at Night – This is my attempt at capturing a speculative moment in time. Van Gogh nears the café with his oils and his easel. He sees several Cafe patrons enjoying a glass or two, he hears music from inside, but he can’t stop now – he is on his way to paint the stars reflecting on the Rhone River or some other amazing nightscape. He tips his hat to a busy waiter as he passes by and the joyful chatter and music fade into the twinkling night sky of Arles as he continues down the avenue.
